My name is Brandon Alterio, I am currently a Sergeant with the Town of Vinton Police Department and have been there for several years. More recently I obtained my license to work as a Realtor in the State of Virginia. Prior to that, I was the traffic officer at the Salem Police Department until February 2019. The traffic position consisted of working vehicle crashes, directing traffic, inspecting taxi cabs and tow trucks and other various duties. I have attended several crash reconstruction courses, to include: Level 1, 2 & 3 Crash Investigation, Pedestrian/Bicycle Crash Investigation, Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation Level 1, Crash Data Retrieval Level 1 & 2, Basic Crime Scene Photography and Basic Evidence Technician course. I enjoy investigating crashes and have been called out to several serious vehicle crashes in order to investigate and use the proper equipment which includes a Total Station. I have worked over close to 1000 vehicle crashes in my police officer career. Prior to police work I served active duty in the United States Air Force, Security Forces. I served over six years and separated as a Staff Sergeant (E-5). During my time there I also attended as Crash Investigation course and worked several crashes. I enjoy that aspect of my job and I am continuing to increase my expertise and knowledge in the matter. I currently have a Bachelor's degree through Liberty University for Criminal Justice: Crime Scene Investigation. I currently am about 9 credit hours shy of Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. I look forward to every obstacle and do not shy away from a challenge.

Kara has lived in the Roanoke Valley almost her entire life. Her oldest son

William Byrd in 2021. She and her family love everything outdoors from the Blue
Ridge Mountains all the way to Smith Mountain Lake! Her passion for
being outside also includes taking care of her horses, goats and other farm
